PDP Enjoys a Successful 2010 Annual Meeting

Despite the cold temperatures and winter storm warning, the ballroom inside the Westin Convention Center Hotel was packed on Tuesday, Feb. 9, with eager guests excited to hear about the good news happening in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Attendees were greeted with fresh, colorful tulips on the tables, a delicious breakfast and everyone received a very special 12 oz. package of Market Square Blend coffee...roasted and packed by Nicholas Coffee Company and available only at the store in Market Square throughout 2010. Attendees were the first to hear about the PDP's exciting news for Downtown in 2010, including:

• 50th Anniversary of Light Up Night®;  this year the PDP will celebrate the milestone with a Light Up Night/Light Up Weekend, Nov. 19 & 20, 2010.  
• Unveiling of a new PDP "Street Team" to address and manage panhandling and homeless issues Downtown.
• DowntownPittsburgh.com goes mobile! Click here for details.
• Sixth Street Lighting Project; installation of twenty new halide street lights along Sixth Street in the Cultural District.

The meeting ended on a high note as the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School performed a special Doo Wop set to promote the company's Valentine's weekend production of "In the Upper Room" and "Company B" at the Benedum Center.
