Clean Up Downtown Community Event

9:00 a.m. - Noon - Registration in Market Square
Come help clean, green and beautify Downtown Pittsburgh for the PDP’s largest volunteer experience yet. Advance sign-up is appreciated, if you would like to volunteer with the PDP, please email Rich Dethlefs.

All Access Downtown

1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Various Locations
Downtown will open its doors for tours of a wide variety of properties including residential apartments and condos, theaters, a Public Art Tour, kayaking tours, Pittsburgh History and Landmark’s Walking Tours of Downtown, and even the roof of the U.S. Steel Building.
All tours are free but require advance sign up. Details below.

Pittsburgh History and Landmark's Walking Tours of Downtown - ALL PITTSBURGH HISTORY AND LANDMARKS TOURS ARE SOLD OUT
 
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Tours are limited to 10 people each, all tours are free. 
  • Grant Street corridor
  • Bridges and River Shores 
  • Historic Fourth Avenue corridor 
  • Penn and Liberty Avenue Cultural District 
  • Market Square Area 

Downtown Residential Open House
 
1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Model units in the below Downtown residential buildings will be open for guests to tour. Stop in to see the many options that exist in Downtown Living. Tours begin in the lobby every half hour at the lobby entrance.

  • Lando Lofts, 909 Penn Avenue
  • Piatt Place, 301 Fifth Avenue
  • The Pennsylvanian, 1100 Liberty Avenue (12:00 – 2:00 only)
  • Rivervue, 300 Liberty Avenue​
  • The Clark Building, 717 Liberty Avenue

Public Art Walking Tour - This Tour is now Sold Out
 
1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
 
Join the Office of Public Art for a highlight tour of Downtown public artworks. The tour will visit works by Louise Bourgeouis, Sol LeWitt, and Romare Bearden, among others. Tour will meet at the PDP offices at 925 Liberty Avenue.
 

Downtown Churches Tour 

1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Visit Downtown Pittsburgh’s distinguished churches during an Open House between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19.  Guided tours will be conducted by congregation members upon request.

  • First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh - 320 Sixth Avenue
  • Trinity Cathedral - 328 Sixth Avenue
  • First Lutheran Church - 615 Grant Street

Byham Theater Behind the Scenes Tours ALL TOURS ARE SOLD OUT
 
Join the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for a tour of the historic Byham Theater. The group will meet at Katz Plaza and then walk to the theater for a very special behind the scenes tour...you'll even have an opportunity to shine on stage!
Two tours are offered: 1:15 p.m and 2:00 p.m.

US Steel Building Rooftop Tours ALL TOURS ARE SOLD OUT

Access one of the best views of Pittsburgh that is rarely open to the public - the rooftop of the US Steel Building. The tours will meet at the security desk in the upper lobby of the US Steel Building. Please note, no heels are permitted on the roof. Don't forget your camera for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! (These tours are weather permitting, there is no rain date). Three tours are offered, 12:30, 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Thank you for your interest. The Rooftop tours proved to be quite popular and have sold out. We will not be able to accommodate any additional participants.
