The core service of our Business Improvement District is to improve the cleanliness and safety of Downtown Pittsburgh. Our Clean Team ensures Downtown is a clean and attractive place to do business and call home while our Street Team specializes in homeless outreach and panhandling issues. Each year we strive to improve services through increased efficiencies, staying current with best practices, and adding special programs that help achieve our goals of a clean and safe Downtown.
In 2011, we launched a Volunteer Program focused on beautification projects throughout the Golden Triangle. The program has proven to be quite successful and we plan to expand the program in 2012 to clean and green Downtown.
Keeping Downtown Pittsburgh clean and safe is a shared responsibility. From the Department of Public Works, which hauls trash and cleans streets, to property owners and merchants who sweep around their buildings, to City, Port Authority, and School District police, to PDP’s Clean and Street Teams—we all have a role to play in keeping Downtown clean and safe.
