The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Presents, The 2009 Annual Alumni Exhibition
October 16 to November 30
Homecoming Reception: Friday, November 20

The Alumni Exhibition is a collection of professional and personal works shared by The Art Institute of Pittsburgh’s alumni. The show includes photography, commercial illustration, professional achievements in design and a variety of works of fine art.

The 2009 show will proudly feature the recent project of Duane Rieder, 19?? Photography, created by the commission of the President of the United States. On September 24, during the G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh, President Barack Obama presented world leaders with a gift from Pittsburgh at a welcome dinner held at the Phipps Conservatory.   The gift was a 5X12 panoramic photography book created by Duane Rieder and each was hand-crafted, specially bound, signed and personalized by President Obama.

The Homecoming Reception on Friday, November 20 will also be held in conjunction with the many festivities of Light Up Night in Pittsburgh. Parking will be available in the Allies Garage directly across from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh on the Boulevard of the Allies, but guests should expect increased traffic and plan accordingly. Information about Light Up Night is available at http://www.downtownpittsburgh.com/do/light-up-night-2009.
