Manfred Honeck, conductor Gil Shaham, violin Sunhae Im, soprano Haydn: Violin Concerto No 2 Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 2 Mahler: Symphony No. 4 Israeli-born violinist Gil Shaham was awarded the coveted Avery Fisher Prize for outstanding achievement in classical music in 2008. Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 is his smallest-scaled and most classical symphony of the nine he composed. The sublime final movement features a soprano voice which expresses a child’s vision of Heaven.
