PPG Place in Downtown Pittsburgh up for sale

A real estate trade publication says PPG Place is on the market.

PPG Place, the glass-walled complex of castle-like buildings that are among Downtown’s largest office properties, is for sale, according to an industry trade report.

Real Estate Finance and Investment reported in its April 25 issue that the building’s lead owner, The Hillman Co., has hired CB Richard Ellis to market the 1.5 million-square-foot office complex. CB Richard Ellis also helped the building’s ownership secure $143 million in new financing in November.

Representatives of CB Richard Ellis and Hillman did not immediately respond to phone requests for confirmation of the plan.
