Post-Gazette: Fairmont Pittsburgh celebrates its first anniversary

Fairmont Pittsburgh celebrated its first anniversary with a reception Tuesday for VIPs and partners including owner PNC. A flash mob performance by Point Park students and an industrial-themed sculpture that turned out to be a fabulous chocolate cake were among the surprises in the lobby that has been crossed by Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews, Laura Bush and other celebrities. In its first year, the glamorous hotel has booked 41,000 rooms, served 116,145 meals and received 27,000 calls asking for something.
