PITTSBURGH, PA — Rosebud Fine Food Market and Deli officially opened its doors today for a Grand Opening Celebration attended by city and county leaders, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Allegheny County Chief Executive Officer, Dan Onorato. Also on the agenda were Kevin McMahon, President of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust; Mike Edwards, President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership; Tracey Jones, Lincoln Properties; John Valentine, President of the Downtown Neighborhood Association and Robin Fernandez, owner, Rosebud. Guests enjoyed free samples from Boars Head, fresh coffee and homemade bakery items.

Located at 100 Seventh Street, the 3,100 sq ft Rosebud is the only grocery store in the Golden Triangle and the first one to open in 14 years. It was designed by Design Stream with input from Hugh Boyd Architects.

“Today marks a significant milestone for our Downtown neighborhood,” said Mike Edwards, President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. “Combined with the many boutique shops, restaurants, department stores, an office supply store and a new bookstore already Downtown, residents and office workers now have access to all of the amenities they need.”

In addition to grocery items such as canned goods, cleaning supplies and pet food, Rosebud carries premium items such as frozen seafood, prime cut meats and poultry, organic products, Boars Head deli meats and cheeses and homemade prepared foods for on-the-go customers. The store will also offer corporate catering, sandwiches and specialty salads from its deli. Over the next several weeks, Robin Fernandez, the store’s owner, plans to offer a delivery service to Downtown buildings and residences. In the warmer months, he hopes to have outdoor seating available.

“I’ve always believed in Downtown’s potential to be a truly great neighborhood. Opening Rosebud has been a challenging, yet extremely rewarding business venture and I’m looking forward to serving a new clientele,” said Robin Fernandez.

"Rosebud Fine Food Market is a long-awaited downtown amenity, further establishing the Cultural District as a premier location to live, work and play,” said Kevin McMahon, President of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “We applaud Robin’s commitment to building a residential neighborhood, as well as the many community leaders and collaborative partners who have brought this project to fruition."

Rosebud has 15 employees and will be open 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday through Sunday. The store number is 412-586-7885.
