Liberty-Stanwix Closing to Detour Buses for a Year
Many Buses Detoured – Several Stops Relocated
Pittsburgh, PA, Oct. 13, 2009 – Numerous Port Authority of Allegheny County bus routes will be detoured in Downtown Pittsburgh for about a year starting Oct. 20, 2009 due to the closing of the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Stanwix Street.
The changes involve detours of more than 20 routes in Downtown and the relocation of several commonly-used bus stops. The detours will remain in place for about a year and then start to be lifted as lanes of travel in the Stanwix Street work zone reopen.
