Market Square Thursday Farmers Market Relocates to Gateway Plaza
Reconstruction of Historic Square Requires Temporary Move
PITTSBURGH, PA — Downtown workers, visitors and residents will still be able to purchase fresh vegetables, salsas, pierogies, wine and fresh flowers from the popular Thursday Farmers Market—however, the scenery is going to change. Beginning Thursday, August 20, the Market Square Farmers Market will relocate to Gateway Plaza between Gateway Center Three and The Hilton (the site of the Three Rivers Arts Festival Artists Market).
“We're pleased the Market can continue without interruption even during construction," said Michael Edwards, President and CEO, Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. "Thanks to the great folks at Gateway, workers, residents and visitors can still enjoy the Market.”
The Farmers Market will be open from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Thursdays through mid-December. For more information, visit www.DowntownPittsburgh.com/Market-Square. The Farmers Market is sponsored by Right by Nature and programmed by PASA (Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture).
Check out the new Market Square blog at http://MarketSquarePgh.blogspot.com for construction updates and merchant specials. Information will also be posted on the PDP’s Facebook page and via Twitter @DowntownPitt.
