Mike Edwards, PDP President and CEO, Accepts New Position with City of Spokane
Pittsburgh, PA — The PDP Board of Directors announced today that Michael Edwards, President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP), has accepted a position with the City of Spokane, WA and will leave the PDP as of February 11, 2011
“Mike has been with the PDP since May of 2005 and has directed this organization through many great achievements including the implementation of a 5-year strategic plan, BID renewal, Downtown Wi-Fi, car-sharing and new economic development projects such as Paris to Pittsburgh and a rejuvenated Market Square,” said Richard Beynon, PDP Chairman of the Board. "On behalf of the Executive Committee and Board, we have been tremendously impressed with Mike's drive and passion for making Downtown a great place to live, work, dine and do business."
“My time in Pittsburgh has been very rewarding and it was a difficult decision to move on, but I am very pleased with the PDP's accomplishments in the past few years and appreciate the hard work the staff has put into fullfilling the PDP's mission," said Edwards.
The PDP will organize a committee to find Edwards’ replacement on a national basis but will also consider local individuals who have Downtown management experience. Details about the position will be posted on the PDP website, Downtown Pittsburgh.com and the International Downtown Association website in the coming weeks.
