PITTSBURGH, PA —The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) received an Award of Distinction from The International Downtown Association (IDA) for its 2008 Downtown Living Exposed marketing campaign. The PDP was recognized during the IDA’s 55th Annual Conference in Milwaukee, WI, September 11 – 15, 2009.
Downtown Living Exposed was one of 77 award submissions received by the IDA this year as part of its Downtown Achievement Awards and was selected as a standard of excellence in Downtown and urban development and management. Jane Jenkins, chairman of IDA and the awards program said, “The awards jury was impressed with the accomplishments of the winners and are pleased to honor the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership among them.”
“The PDP staff poured a great deal of their time and energy into making this one of our most dynamic marketing campaigns,” stated Michael Edwards, PDP President and CEO. “We are also honored to be chosen as this month’s featured “Downtown of the Month” on the IDA’s Website at

About the Downtown Living Exposed Campaign
Downtown “Living Exposed”, a multi-faceted marketing campaign launched in 2008, included print and radio advertising, web promotion, sidewalk art and a photography competition. The competition exposed the people, amenities and urban lifestyle that make our Downtown neighborhood chic, hip and super cool. The campaign culminated with a fall gallery exhibit of the winning photography, and display of the print advertising campaign.
