PennDOT District 11 Weekend Construction Summary June 10-13
Pittsburgh, PA– PennDOT District 11 is reminding motorists several highway and bridge improvements will be occurring in Allegheny County this weekend, June 10-13.
All activities are weather permitting and subject to change. Motorists should plan their travels accordingly by anticipating highway work zones, slowing down, exercising patience and being safe. Below is a summary of the major closings and restrictions this weekend:
Fort Pitt Bridge
Intermittent, short-term lane closures on the inbound (upper deck) of the Fort Pitt Bridge (eastbound I-376) in the City of Pittsburgh will occur from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday for overhead sign inspections. Single lane traffic will occur as needed through the inbound Fort Pitt Tunnel across the Fort Pitt Bridge to the Grant Street off-ramp (Exit 71A).

Liberty Tunnel
The Liberty Tunnel (Route 3069) in the City of Pittsburgh will be closed in both directions from 10 p.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

I-79
Bridge Work
Single lane traffic will occur on southbound I-79 in the area under the northbound off-ramp to Route 19 (Exit 76) between Exit 77 and 75 in Marshall Township from 7 a.m. on Saturday through 5 a.m. on Monday. Single lane traffic will also occur on southbound I-79 in the area of the bridge over Mingo Road (Route 4051) between Exit 73 and 75 from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Crews will be shifting traffic onto the newly reconstructed right side of the bridge. Once the shift is completed, two lanes of southbound traffic will be restored on I-79 in this area.

Roadwork
Traffic on southbound I-79 in Robinson and Kennedy townships will be reduced to a single lane from 7 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Monday on southbound I-79 from the Neville Island Bridge (Exit 64) to the Crafton/Route 60 interchange (Exit 60). In addition, the ramp from Route 51 to northbound I-79 will be closed. Crews will be concrete patching. Northbound traffic on I-79 will not be affected this weekend. Northbound on-ramp traffic from Route 51 will be detoured using southbound I-79 to the Exit 60 interchange, exiting, and taking the on-ramp from Route 60 to northbound I-79.

I-579 Crosstown Boulevard
Bridge Painting
Single lane traffic in both directions on I-579 (Crosstown Boulevard) between the Liberty Bridge and Forbes Avenue in the City of Pittsburgh will occur from approximately 11 p.m. on Friday continuously through 6 a.m. on Monday. Crews will be painting overhead ramps.

Guide Rail Repairs
Intermittent, short-term single lane and shoulder closures will occur in several locations on I-79, Parkway East (I-376), and Parkway North (I-279) for guide rail repairs between 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the following areas:
- Southbound I-79 between the Glenfield (Exit 66) and Mt. Nebo (Exit 68) interchanges
- Both directions on the Parkway East (I-376) between the Edgewood-Swissvale (Exit 77) and Monroeville (Exit 80) interchanges
- Southbound (inbound) Parkway North (I-279) from I-79 to the Camp Horne interchange (Exit 8)

Route 22/30
Westbound Route 22/30 will be closed in the area of the Kelso Road overpass/Noblestown Interchange in North Fayette Township from 7 a.m. on Friday continuously through noon on Saturday, June 11. Crews will be installing drainage across the roadway. Signs will be posted to guide westbound motorists during the closure to use the on-and-off ramps at the interchange. Eastbound Route 22 will remain open.
