At its annual meeting Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership announced changes to its safety program, a new mobile Web site and plans for this year's Light Up Night, which marks its 50th anniversary.
The Partnership's Web site, DowntownPittsburgh.com, is now available on mobile devices, via a custom-designed Web app (http://m.downtownpittsburgh.com).
The organization is launching a new safety and security program to replace its Safety Ambassador Program, which ended in 2009. The new PDP Street Team will be focused on homeless issues Downtown, with four street team members trained to deal with such issues.
This year's holiday Light Up Night will span an entire weekend Nov. 19 and 20, and will include the requisite fireworks.
