The economy is frightful and most parking is no longer free, but city, retail and Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership officials said today they expect shoppers and tourists to flock to stores and events this holiday season.
The special events kick off Nov. 21 with Light Up Night, an event that should draw around 200,000 people Downtown, said Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership board chair Jan Smith during a press conference at Fifth Avenue Place.
