The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership hopes to persuade city officials to open a police substation Downtown by year's end.
Partnership President and CEO Michael Edwards said Tuesday he met several times with police Chief Nate Harper about the possibility of stationing up to a dozen officers in the Golden Triangle.
"There is an evolving Downtown, and we want to make sure the police service keeps up for that," Edwards said after making the announcement at the nonprofit business association's annual meeting at the Westin Convention Center.
