Downtown Pittsburgh will become a playground for the pooches when Dog Days in Market Square descends this Sunday, August 17th.
The innovative outing for canines runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. when Animal Friends and their behaviorists will be on hand to work with the dogs and lead them through agility equipment such as weave poles, tunnels and games like “musical dogs” with hoola hoops.
Animal Friends is staging the event, in part, as a way to gauge community interest for a downtown dog park, says Kathleen Zawrotniak, program and events manager for Downtown Pittsburgh, co-sponsoring the event with Animal Friends.
