The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership announced today that it has hired Jeremy Waldrup as a new president and CEO.
Mr. Waldrup, of New York, will replace Michael Edwards, who resigned in December. Mr. Waldrup will start May 16.
Mr. Waldrup has worked for New York City's Department of Small Business Services. He has directed more than $2 million in grants to support commercial revitalization projects. In addition, he launched seven Business Solutions Centers, which provided access to programs and services for businesses to help them start, operate and expand.
The 35-year-old received his master's in public administration and certificate of non-profit management from the University of Colorado School of Public Affairs. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
"Downtown Pittsburgh has such tremendous assets, including new public spaces, thriving cultural institutions and a growing residential community," said Mr. Waldrup in a press release.
"I am looking forward to working with the staff and board of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership to continue to support the momentum of Downtown."
