A daylong stream of irate transit riders -- that was not the convention that planners had in mind when the new David L. Lawrence Convention Center was built.
But they came Thursday to vent frustration with a system in perpetual crisis. Some of the pleas to stop proposed cuts were heart-rending.
Stephanie Tecza of Polish Hill stood to speak for her adult daughter, Leah, who is mentally retarded but can meet her friends at the movies and get to a morning job in the Strip District by bus.
