Pittsburgh police are taking an extra shine to Downtown.
Ten officers volunteered to walk the annual "sparkle beat" from 10 a.m. to midnight until Dec. 31 to provide extra security for shoppers and out-of-town visitors. The shift is named for the Christmas season, Zone 2 community relations Officer Janine Davis said.
